• Where can I meet girls in my area?

This is probably the most asked question. I have decided to make a special page to answer this question. The information is provided by the membership, so send me inputs for your locale. Click here to see the page.

• I like a certain model I have seen on another website. Will she be featured here on Bob's Tgirls?

Model suggestions from the membership are always welcome. Some of those requests have resulted in models being featured here. However, there are various factors that determine whether or not a requested model will appear here. The primary factors are availability, accessibility and meeting my criteria. A model who is on another site may not meet my criteria and vis versa.

• How can I get to meet one of the girls?  How can I get their phone numbers, email addresses, etc? Do any of them have fan clubs, their own web sites or have personal items for sale?

I provide each of the girls on this site with the opportunity to promote themselves in any way they choose, whether it be contact information, fan club info, links to their own web pages, for sale items, etc. All information the girls wish to provide is on their intro pages.  I will not, at any time provide any additional information, so please don't ask me for phone numbers, etc.  The girls are entitled to their privacy and I will always respect that.

• (Added February 1, 2007) If I do call one of the girls, what is the proper telephone etiquette.

First of all, be respectful and realize that many of these girls are working girls. Transformations are expensive. Escorting is how they finance their transformations and how they make a living. They are not looking for a boyfriend or a dinner date with someone they've never met. They are not always horny and desperate to have sex and certainly don't need to hear guys jacking off over the phone. If you meet a girl as an escort and treat her right a friendship could develop. It has happened for me and others I know. Also be considerate of the time you call. Calling a girl at 4AM to tell her you like her pictures or that you want her to fuck you for free because you're a hot stud is not good manners.

Now for the specific reason for this FAQ item. Sofia A called me this week and asked me to remove her pages from the site. She has had annoying calls at all times of the day and night. Callers asking her when she is going to pose nude, when is she going to take more pictures, callers jacking off, callers asking for freebees, etc. Sofia is the one model on the site who was not paid. She did not sign a model release. She did it for fun. As such I have to honor her request to remove her pages. I know that most of you members are not sort to treat the girls in these ways. As for those who did, the rest of us thank you for all of us losing Sofia.

• When will you be showing more pictures of "xxxxx"?

I don't schedule beyond the next update. However the number and frequency of new sets of the girls is largely based on the feedback I receive from the membership. I read all emails sent to me and the messages on the forum. Naturally, availability of girls for new photoshoots is a factor as well.

• Why not more dildo/cum/hardcore shots?

A number of reasons - many of the girls I work with don't do this type of work regularly but will pose nude.  Some of the girls had not done this type of work until I approached them.  Generally the girls like to show their beauty and glamour.  As such, some don't feel comfortable with having photos of themselves with dildos and so forth, because it detracts how they like to be seen.

Physiologically, some girls cannot shoot cum or even get an erection due to the effects of the hormones they take.  Some girls remain fully functional on hormones, others do not. 

As far as hardcore goes, I will be doing that from time to time.  There are a few key factors (not in any particular order) which determine how much hardcore, I will be able to provide.  1. Funds: Hardcore is very expensive, as compared to solo photoshoots, typically by four times or more.  2. Availability: Getting a good hardcore shoot organized is difficult.  I've done a few hardcore photoshoots and the best quality comes from Kimberly Devine.  I could work with her every day.  She really puts forth 100% effort.  Her photoshoot with her girlfriend Cinder is the best I've done or seen.
 

• I'm a good looking guy with a big cock - can I model with the girls?

If you are a gook looking guy, with a good physique and are serious you can email me sample photos of yourself. The girls usually find their own partners, but you never know... 

• I'm a tgirl who would like to be featured on your site?

Great, send me an email with a couple of photos, your location and stats. It doesn't matter where you are, if I can't photograph you I may have a colleague who can.

• Is the age at which tgirls start hormones important?

This following info was sent to me by a member. I thought it was interesting so I added it here. I don't know that this is entirely correct, but it does make sense - Bob.

I thought you might want to know that if a transsexual starts taking hormones before puberty, the effect will be different then if started after. When hormones are started prior to the change from childhood to adolescence, the body develops the same way a genetic girl's body, which will result in an adult woman's features. If she starts taking them well after the change, she will still produce a woman's features, but many of the man's features that have already developed still will stay. 


For example, Sapphire is the perfect pre-puberty tgirl to prove that hormones at an early age produce more womanly features. Her voice is very high because her vocal chords never made the changeover to what a boy's voice box does during puberty because of her female hormones. So the voice box did what a normal girl's voice does during puberty. If a TD starts taking hormones after puberty the male adult voice has already taken effect. Even though hormones will still change the voice toward a woman's, they still cannot have the full effect because what causes men's voice to be so deep is a permanent feature that cannot be changed. That is why Sapphire's voice is so sweet and many other tgirls have a deep kind of female voice. 

The same goes with hands and feet. Most transsexuals as you can see have large hands and feet. That is because once mother nature has created the adult male feet and hand profile hormones cannot reverse it. The bone structure is permanent. If a tgirl takes hormones before puberty as the body grows it will assume the skeletal structure of a women causing her to be shorter and have smaller female hands and feet as well. I am not saying this is the main reason why! ! Sapphire is the way she is. Just that the early hormones have a lot to do with her appearance. I still believe she was born a girl. 

I found all this out from a post op friend of mine who is studying to be a nurse in school. Too bad you could not meet her. She is gorgeous. She is  a lot like Sapphire. My friend claims she was born with a female chromosome even though she had a penis. If you were to do a DNA test on her it would show that she is a true female. DNA can not be changed. So a male to female transsexual even after the change will still show male patterns. Maybe Sapphire is that way too with the female chromosome and would show female patterns on a DNA test.

• Are you a professional photographer and do you do this full time?

I am not formally trained as a photographer. I continue to learn as I go and experiment with new techniques.  The tgirl photography is something I started on a whim for Shemale Yum, back in Spring of 1998.

I had operated the site for a year before quitting my "9 to 5" job. The amount of time required to run this site and work my engineering job is not something one would want to do indefinitely. I had been working at both, with the hope that the site would eventually do well enough to allow me to go back to one job. This Summer (2000), I decided to give up my other job. 

Having done so, I now have time to travel to other cities to do photoshoots, enhance the site, and have time to have a normal life again, if you could call this normal.

• How come you get to meet all these incredible TGirls?

I've been going to clubs and dating tgirls for a number of years in the Los Angeles area.  I'm a nice guy (so I'm told) and give them the respect they deserve.  As such, I've made many friends in the TS community.  When the opportunity to do photography presented itself to me, I had several friends to call on.  They in turn hooked me up with their friends.  I built a reputation as being a good guy to work with.  With that reputation, it is now easier for me to find other girls to work with.

• Why did you start your own site?

I had done photography for Shemale Yum & Planet Shemale and decided I wanted to try my own website. Encouragement from the members of those sites was very instrumental in my decision. 

• Will you still be doing work for other sites?

I may do so on occasion, since the webmasters are friends of mine, but not on a regular basis due to limits on my time and resources. 

• Have you had sex with any of the girls? What was xxxxx like in bed?

Naturally it does happen on occasion, but I don't kiss and tell, for the sake of the girls' privacy. Although sometimes I just want to tell everyone how awesome a certain girl is, discretion is important. I do occasionally give hints in the forum and emails.

• What kind of relationships do you have with the girls?

Before I started this site, I had several friends in the TS community. Now I have many more. These relationships range from casual acquaintances to some of my closest friends. 

These days, I only date tgirls, so the girls are involved in my social life as well as my professional life. It can be quite a roller coaster ride at times, but I love it. As the song says, I am living "la vida loca".

• (Modified on December 17, 2007) I've been locked out of the site. What is happening and why?

There are major efforts out there to break into sites like this one. There are two primary parts to this. The first is those who for whatever reason choose to share their username/password combinations publicly such as on internet bulletin boards. The other is hackers actively attempting to break into the site. Besides the obvious problem, the programs the hackers use and the major influx of people attempting to enter for free can overwhelm the server and make the site difficult or impossible for you, the paying member, to use.

As of December, 2007 I have implemented a new password security system. Unlike the previous system which could let in a number of people using the same username before taking action, this one will typically catch the second person logging in with a username.

Unfortunately some innocent members get caught up in this because their username/passwords were hacked and then made public. The new system will automatically create a new password for the original owner via the email address he/she used when joining the site. If you find yourself locked out and you feel you should not be, please go to my CONTACTS page for further instructions. It is no longer necessary to email us if your password has been compromised or lost.

• (Modified on December 17, 2007) I was using the site and was suddenly locked out and got a bandwidth limit error. What does this mean?

I have put a daily bandwidth limit per user in place. There are two reasons for this. One is the use of spiders. For those who do not know, a spider is a program that can automatically download an entire site with only a simple setup by the user. Similar to the  way people pay for telephone service in terms of minutes per month, webmasters pay for service in terms of bandwidth or the amount of data downloaded from the server in a month (photos, videos, etc.) This limit stops the spiders from operating past that point while not affecting those who are using the site normally. The 4 gigabyte limit should be plenty for anyone using the site normally. Even I can't jack-off that much. If you do exceed that limit you will be allowed back in after 12 hours.

The other reason for the daily bandwidth limit goes back to the previous FAQ item. Compromised username/password combinations that are not caught by the other security methods may be caught by this one.

Spiders and other things that cause excessive bandwidth usage can also slow the site down for those who enjoy the site as intended. As such we are working to set up the site's infrastructure the best way overall. • What is the goal of Bob's Tgirls and how does it compare to other transgender adult sites?

From the beginning, my goal has been to have the best balance of quality and quantity among transsexual sites. There are a few sites with more models/content. It is not my intent to compete with those in terms of quantity because their criteria for models/photographers allows them to have content that does not meet the quality standards I have set. With two exceptions, all the content on this site has been shot by Persian Blue, who photographs the girls in Brazil or by yours truly. I keep the level of quality high by being selective on both photographers and models. Neither PB or I are formally educated photographers, but we work at improving our skills and equipment. Also, with few exceptions, Bob's Tgirls features only transsexuals, whereas other sites feature more transvestites and cross dressers.

Each webmaster has his/her own ways of doing things. As such, individual members may prefer my methods in some areas while not in others. I occasionally make changes based on member feedback. And there are some good ideas I don't implement because they don't fit into my scheme of doing things. No website (or any other business) can be all things to all people. Hopefully, I operate my site well enough overall so that any negative aspects will be inconsequential.

• The site seems very slow and I'm having problems downloading files...

Between each individual's computer and the server that hosts this site lies a path of any number of routers, computers, cables, etc. Most of the time, when an apparent slowdown of the site occurs, the problem actually lies somewhere in that path. Sometimes the problem lies within an ISP, but it's usually not there either. Fortunately these anomalies are usually cleared up within a few days. So when you experience a slowdown, please let it ride for a while before sending me an email. Of course if there really is a problem with the server I want to get it fixed, but I want to be careful about sending false alarms to the server tech support. So I appreciate your patience. In April, 2003 I moved to a new server in Europe. Depending on your distance to it thumbnail pages may appear to load more slowly. However the overall download speed for individual photo or video files is faster than it has ever been. From my home in Los Angeles, I can actually stream my mpeg video files without interruption. I love cable internet access.

• How often is the site updated?

I am making a change to the update schedule. I put a poll on the forum to get member input on this. Based on membership decision, instead of the bi-weekly update schedule I've had for 7+ years, the site is now on a semi-daily update schedule. So instead of large updates with many things at once, there will be single item updates. The term semi-daily means that there will be something new at least 5 days per week. As always the updates page has links to the newest features. The main page will no longer be updated on each update, but only when I have announcements for the membership.

This schedule will not be rigid. There could be 3 days on and one off, 8 on and 2 off, etc. I may double up if I need to be away for a couple of days and so forth. My goal here is to keep you all more interested on a regular basis. By giving you a reason to come in more often, I hope this will spark more interest in the forums and get some interesting and fun topics going in there. Hopefully this will be to everyone's liking.

• I have a suggestion for the site/I have spotted an incorrect link/one of the images doesn't work, etc?

Now that the site has multiple forums, including a problem reports forum and private messaging, the best place to notify me of problems and suggestions is there. However if you can not access the forum, please send me an email.


• What do I do, if I engage in business with one of the girls and I have a problem.  Is Bob's Tgirls responsible?

I have no business involvements, with the models, other than photography unless I specifically indicate such.  I simply avail the models the opportunity to provide the membership with contact or other info they choose. Beyond that I have no role. In the event, that anything is marketed directly from Bob's Tgirls, it will be explicitly labeled as such.  Bob's Tgirls will of course take responsibly in those instances.
 

• (Modified on December 17, 2007) Is this site recurring billing? How do I cancel?

Yes, if you paid by credit card or online check you will be automatically rebilled each month. If you wish to cancel there are links conveniently located on the CONTACTS page. There are also links to that page on the front, join and preview pages, or simply click on the appropriate link: CCBill or Verotel.  Please cancel at least 2-3 days before the membership is due for renewal. Regardless of when you cancel, your membership will stay active for the remainder of your subscription period. Please retain the subscription information you received via email when you joined. That will make canceling easier if you decide to do so. If you have a problem canceling please send an email to accounts. Your email must specify your processor (CCBill or Verotel), your username and the nature of your problem. Thank you.

• Why do you have recurring billing?

The concept of this website is like monthly magazine subscription. It is more convenient for those who enjoy the site to be automatically rebilled each month rather than having to fill out the subscription form repeatedly. I realize that some people are uncomfortable with recurring billing due to difficulties encountered when trying to cancel. I have had problems on other sites and understand the frustration. But I have made it as convenient as possible for anyone to cancel, as I describe in the previous answer.

There is another advantage to the members. As with anything else, the subscription rate of this site will occasionally increase. Members on recurring billing never get a price increase as long as their memberships are kept active. When this site went online in June of 1999, the price was $12.95 per month and there was a special discount price of $9.99 per month for members of Shemale Yum. There are members still paying those prices. So recurring billing isn't so bad after all.

• I am planning a trip to Brazil, is there any info available as to where to go or what to do?

Yes, Persian Blue can sometimes be a tour guide to Bob's Tgirls members, when they are there. He can be contacted via email.

• I have seen some other sites change to weekly updates. Do you plan to do the same?

Probably not and here is why: I believe the sites that update more often are able to do so because the owners purchase content from many sources. I am not in that situation. I also do all the site updates myself instead of relying on others to do it. By updating every other week, I have the flexibility to use the opposite weeks for shooting new material. Even if I do decide to update every week, the amount of content won't necessarily change, it would just be split up.

Miscellaneous

• The following is a good question submitted by one of you:  I'm not much of an expert on the transgender community, but there seems to be a disproportionately high (in relation to population) number of Latinas among your models. Is this just a question of your personal interests and the direction your site has taken; or is transsexuality more common in the cultures of Latin American countries?
  
  There are a few reasons for this. One is that a majority of the pretty tgirls I find are of Latin American heritage. There are in turn a couple of reasons for that. The first is my location. Los Angeles is the destination many of the Mexican and Central American girls choose. Then there is South Florida which is my secondary area to find models. As you might guess South Florida has many girls from the Caribbean and South America. Then there are those girls photographed by Persian Blue in Brazil.
  
  Putting that aside for a moment lets look at culture. My next statement is based on my personal opinion and observations. In the Latino cultures the men are expected to be macho. In Anglo cultures (US, Europe, etc.) that expectation is lower. In fact in the US it's OK for men to be sensitive and caring and are not required to show as much bravado, in order to get along in society. On the other hand Latin America is different. I believe that expectation on Latino males results in a higher percentage of them pursuing transformation. That doesn't necessarily mean that Latino cultures have a higher percentage of males in this category, but I think more of them feel the need to make the change. I believe to a lesser degree this occurs in Asian cultures as well.
  
  Then there is genetics. I believe the facial features and body sizes of Latinos and Asians allow them to be more easily passable then white and black men overall. In particular Asian men are often slight of build and their facial features are easily transferable to a fem look, particularly with the help of hormones. Latinos have that advantage as well and I believe have better complexions overall.
  
  Naturally my own sense of beauty has to come into play, since I am the photographer. And my first preference is Latinas. That preference has been with me since childhood (long before I even knew transsexuals existed.) Also, my time spent in Korea (I was in the U.S. Air Force) caused an everlasting love of Asian women.
  
  So in review, my answer is a combination of geography, culture, genetics, and my own preference.
  
  
• I like real girls, I also like transsexuals with their something extra, but I don't like men. Am I gay or what am I?
  
  This  question comes up every couple of months on the forum and occasionally in my email as well. So here is my answer. First, gay men are not into transsexuals. On the other hand totally straight men don't like penises either. So I'd say bisexual is the best answer, although not completely accurate either. There are gray areas when it comes to sexual preference. In other words some gay men are more gay than others. The same goes for straights. I have a friend who considers himself to be gay. Yet he does find women sexually attractive and does have sex with women. But when it comes to romantic feelings, he only has those for men. And he isn't one of those "straight acting" men either. He has the mannerisms that are typical of gay men. On the other hand, most gay men won't have anything to do (sexually) with genetic females. For me personally, I can have romantic feelings for women and transsexuals, but not men. I like top and bottom while others only like one way or the other. So you can see there are many possible variations. With all that, simple labels are difficult to use. 
  
  I think all of us who have this preference for transsexuals struggle with it at some point. I did about 10 years ago. I questioned my own sexuality and asked myself this same question. I tried to repress it for a while, thinking I could talk myself out of this preference because it was wrong. I eventually realized that I like what I like and have no more control over that than I would over liking ice cream. And similarly the girls have no control over their gender identity crises either. No one chooses to be a transsexual, or to be straight, gay or anything else. I believe it is both a product of genetics and environment. I say this because I know of four sets of transsexuals who are sisters and two brothers who are gay. If sexual preference and gender identity were conscious choices as many homophobic religious zealots believe, you wouldn't have situations in which siblings were involved.
  
  Now that I've provided my input, my advice to those struggling with this is to simply enjoy what you like and don't worry about labeling yourselves. Just go with it and have fun. I'm certainly glad I was able to make that mental transition. Of course you have to be careful as to who you let in on your secret. Part of my family and a few of my straight friends know, but most do not. I hope this helps.

• I found pictures of Elena on a newsgroup and joined hoping I could find more of her, but couldn't find her photos. Where is she?
  
  I have been asked this many times, so here is the story of Elena. The short version is Elena is a hoax. Here's the long version: Sometime around the beginning 2000, someone took pictures of a genetic girl and using Photoshop or a similar program pasted penises on her. He then attached my logo to them and floated them around on newsgroups, Yahoo clubs etc. I don't know how many of these exist. I have seen on with Shawna's cock and one with Meghan's. I don't recall the others.
  
  I don't know if this person's intention was simply humor or an attempt to discredit me. Obviously with the beautiful (real) transsexuals I have here, I have no reason to create fakes. Actually I think my girls who's penises were used on Elena's photos are prettier any way. A bi-product of this is that a few people have actually joined this site hoping to see Elena. For those of you who did, I hope you are satisfied with what I have to offer even if Elena is not included.

• I have news concerning the transgender community or an upcoming transgender event (such as a pagenant) that I would like to have disseminated on Bob's Tgirls. What do I do.

The site now has multiple message boards including a general forum for news items and an announcements forum for events.

Video

• (Modified on January 31, 2007) What video formats are used on the site?

As of Spring of this year, I switched from MPEG 1 to DivX ® video format. The DivX ® format provides DVD quality clips at about double the filesize of MPEG1. Since a large percentage of members have high speed internet, that is less of an issue than before. I apologize to those who still have slower connections with longer wait times. More details can be found on the Video Instructions Page. In addition, I also provide smaller .mp4 video clips. They are about the same quality as the mpeg1 clips I had been using prior to switching to the DivX ® format .These are rendered specifically to play on your iPod. They will play on most portable devices. They are also ideal for those who have slow internet connections or hard drive limitations.

• (This item is partially superceeded by the item above.) Why do you use mpeg format in your video clips while most sites use real player format.

As in other areas of the site, I strive for the highest quality possible. Although many sites feature video clips, BTG was one of the first to do so. When I started, I experimented with Quicktime, Real Player and mpeg. I looked at the results of my own experimentation and studied other websites. The best quality video I found elsewhere and was able to produce myself was mpeg. The smallest file sizes are real player. Quicktime files are about the same size as mpeg 1, but I could not get the same quality. 

As a webmaster, it would be much less expensive to have real player files because they average about half the size of mpeg. Even though there are tens of thousands of photos, on the site, and only a couple hundred video clips, the video amounts to over 75% of my bandwidth costs.

At that time, I decided to put it to a vote of the membership. I laid out the pros and cons and the membership chose the mpeg format and I agreed with the majority. Although some my not notice much difference between mpeg and real player, when viewing in a small window, it is quite noticeable to me. And mpeg allows you to view full screen. Forget about that with real player.

• I'm having problems playing / downloading video clips?

I test the clips before I upload them, so I know they work but there are so many different hardware and software configurations out there, some of you may have problems. I suggest downloading the files first rather than attempting to play them directly. Detailed instructions are available on the Video Instructions Page.

• I am having problems with the pay-per-view video feed?

The pay-per-view service is operated by a third party which I have no control over. So if you do have any problems with the service please contact them first through the help section on their site. If you have problems that cannot be resolved please let me know via the problem reports forum or email.
